Clinical Pilates

Individualised exercise to build strength, control and confidence in movement.

What is Clinical Pilates?

Clinical Pilates is a personalised form of exercise therapy that uses Pilates-based movements to improve strength, flexibility, balance and body awareness. It is guided by a trained health professional and tailored to your individual needs, goals and physical abilities.

Clinical Pilates focuses on how your body moves and functions as a whole. By using controlled, purposeful exercises, it can help improve the strength and coordination of muscles that support the spine, joints and overall movement. Exercises can be adapted to suit different levels of fitness and ability.

What to expect in a session:

Your session will involve a series of controlled, purposeful exercises designed around your individual needs. Your practitioner will guide you through each movement, helping you develop strength, stability, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. Exercises can be modified or progressed throughout your session depending on your ability and goals. Throughout your session, you’ll be encouraged to communicate how you’re feeling so that exercises and treatment can be adjusted as needed. Each session is tailored to how your body is feeling and moving on the day.

What can it help with:

Clinical Pilates may be used to help with:

- Back and neck pain

- Joint pain and stiffness

- Sports and activity-related injuries

- Postural and movement concerns

- Balance and coordination

- Rehabilitation following injury

- Improving mobility, flexibility and strength

  • Supporting a return to exercise and physical activity

  • Post surgical

  • Pre + postnatal

Clinical Pilates can also be incorporated into a broader treatment plan alongside hands-on therapy and other forms of exercise. Your practitioner will tailor the exercises to your current abilities, symptoms and goals, with the aim of helping you move more comfortably and confidently.

Who we see:

We work with adults, children, elderly, pregnant and post-natal clients, adapting care to age and stage.

How many sessions will I need:

The number of sessions you may need depends on your individual circumstances, including what you’re experiencing, how long you’ve had your symptoms, your goals and how your body responds to treatment and exercise.

Some people may only need a few sessions to address a specific problem, while others may benefit from ongoing care and exercise to support longer-term strength, mobility and physical function.

During your initial consultation, your practitioner will take the time to understand your concerns, assess your movement and discuss your goals. From there, they can recommend an appropriate treatment or exercise plan and review your progress as you go.

Small group class Vs 1:1

  • 1:1 Clinical Pilates

A 1:1 session provides dedicated one-on-one time with your practitioner. This option may be particularly suitable if you are new to Clinical Pilates, returning from an injury, managing more complex needs or would benefit from closer guidance and individual attention.

  • Small Group Class

Small group sessions provide the benefits of Clinical Pilates in a supportive group environment. With a maximum of 4 participants in each class, your practitioner can still provide individual guidance, monitor your technique and modify exercises to suit your needs.

Small group sessions can be a great option if you enjoy exercising alongside others, are comfortable working more independently and would like the motivation and social aspect of a group environment. Each session will still remain personalised.
