Osteopathy for Adults

Reduce pain and improve mobility safely and holistically.

Whether you’re a tradie, office administrator, stay at home parent or anything in between, life comes with its toll on your body. In most adults, it’s common to develop a range of aches and pains including:

  • Back pain

  • Neck pain/headaches

  • Sciatica

  • Arthritis

  • Muscle strains

  • Ligament sprains

  • Shoulder pain

  • Knee pain

  • Ankle pain

  • Hip pain

What to expect at your first appointment

1. Talk about your medical history

For you to receive the best possible treatment, we first need to sit down and have a chat about the pain you’re experiencing and any previous injuries, illnesses or medications that could be contributing to your symptoms.

2. Undergo a physical assessment

After we have a good understanding about your concerns, we’ll assess any relevant joints, muscles and nerves around the area. The main thing we will be checking is what moves well, and what does not. For example, you may be able to move in a certain direction but not in another. Depending on the extent of your complaint, we may need to perform other orthopaedic tests to reach a diagnosis.

3. Create a treatment plan

After your initial assessment, we will be able to have a discussion around your diagnosis, answer any of your questions and create a treatment plan that fits your lifestyle. It is important to note that most people need frequent sessions to notice a significant, long-term change.

4. Start treatment

Depending on your diagnosis, this could include a range of different treatment options including:

  • Soft tissue massage

  • Dry needling

  • Cupping

  • Joint manipulation

  • Joint articulation

As part of your treatment, we will provide you with some exercise and lifestyle advice as we believe in treating you holistically. Making even small changes to your lifestyle can assist with improving your symptoms.

Following your treatment plan, we will rebook your next treatment at a time convenient to you. At your next appointment we’ll be able to gauge your progress and how you’re feeling as well as continue your treatment.

  • Myofascial release

  • Stretching

  • Lymphatic drainage

  • Other gentler techniques where needed
